Rajendra spent years as a migrant worker in Saudi Arabia and the UAE and lived the problems the two of them then set out to solve: no financial plan, no idea what documents mean, nobody to ask. Sangita, co-founder and CEO, built and leads the organisation from Kathmandu. Today WTS runs programmes for Nepali workers in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Nepal, with companies in Doha, Ajman and Kathmandu and a 21-person team.
A Nepali worker abroad earns more than ever before and, too often, goes home with nothing. Not for lack of effort — for lack of a plan, a bank account that works from abroad, a passport renewed in time, a pension that was never registered. We — Rajendra and Sangita — started as a Facebook page answering those questions, and built the organisation that fixes them.
